Scrap Mettle is a recurring skill in the Dragon Quest series. It is an enhanced version of Helm Splitter that deals enhanced damage to a single target and can greatly reduces their Defence.

Dragon Quest XI[edit]
Hendrik can learn Scrap Mettle by investing 16 skill points into the Axes panel of his character builder. It deals 150% damage and has a 75% chance of reducing the target's Defence for 9 MP.

Dragon Quest Tact[edit]
Scrap Mettle can be learned by Boss troll at level 24 and Ragnar at level 44. It costs 30 MP to use and inflicts 195% damage to a single enemy and can occasionally greatly lower their DEF for 3 turns.
