Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai: A Hero's Bonds
Frizzle appears as a spell for Hadlar and the Luminary Leader. It is a long-range attack that deals magical Fire damage over a small area and raises the user's Fire damage for a short time. The main way to unlock the spell is by obtaining the Celestial Sceptre through Treasure Hunts or through the shop exchange.
Dragon Quest Treasures
Frizzle can be learned by Slimes, Metal slimes, Silhouettes, King she-slimes, and Wight kings at level 18, upgrading from Frizz. It costs 9 MP to cast and deals moderate fire-element magic damage to a single target. Frizzle will automatically upgrade to Kafrizz at level 33.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
Frizzle appears as the Hero's neutral special move in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. It is a more powerful version of the Frizz spell that is launched after a brief charge period, and can be charged up further to turn into Kafrizz. Frizzle costs 16 MP, and sends out two intertwining fireballs that deal 9% damage each. Each volley counts as a separate projectile, meaning opponents and block one and be hit with the other under the right circumstances. This is a reference to the spell's original depiction in Dragon Quest V, VI, and the 16-bit remake of III wherein it was animated as two shots of Frizz fired at the same enemy.
Enemy versions
The enemy version of the spell dealt 52~62 damage, and remained that way until VIII, where it inflicted 42~49 damage. In IX, Frizzle deals 52~71 damage.
