The Overworld is the world map used for a large portion of Dragon Quest III. It is connected to Alefgard through the Great Pit of Giaga.
Geography
The map is an imitiation of a map of Earth, with many location names made to sound similar to their real world counterparts (Romaly~Rome, Zipangu~Japan). The only exception is the continent containing Aliahan which is the hero's origin and starting point in Dragon Quest III.
