Inferno Slash is a recurring skill in the Dragon Quest series, first introduced in Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker. It imbues a melee strike with the power of raging hellfire.
Appearances[edit]
Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age[edit]
Inferno Slash makes its main series debut as an enemy-only skill that can be used by Indignus and Loss leaders. It deals fire damage to a single character.
Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker[edit]
Inferno Slash is a stronger version of Flame Slash. It costs 4 MP to use and strikes a single enemy with an attack using 130% of the user's normal attack, inflicting Frizz-element damage. It can be learned from:
- Fire III (27 points)
- Frizz & Bang III (28 points)
- Fire Fighter (80 points)
- Hawkhart II (18 points)
- Frizz & Zap III (29 points)
- Frizz & Zam III (28 points)
- Firewind Slashes (60 points)
- Frizz & Woosh III (39 points)
- Über Dark Dynamiter (22 points)
- Über Knight (8 points)
Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2[edit]
Inferno Slash now deals a combination of Frizz and Fire Breath-element damage. It can be learned from all the skillsets it could be in the previous game, though the point requirements for Fire Fighter and Firewind Slashes have changed. It can now be learned from:
- Fire Fighter (75 points)
- Firewind Slashes (50 points)
- Frizz & Sizz III (28 points)
- Hero of the Heavens (23 points)
Terry's Wonderland 3D & Iru and Luca's Marvelous Mysterious Key[edit]
Inferno Slash now costs 20 MP to use.
Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree's Woe and the Blight Below[edit]
Inferno Slash is known initially by Luceus and costs 5 MP to use. When he uses it, Luceus unleashes a fiery tornado in front of him, damaging any enemies caught in the vortex.
- Inferno Slash can be upgraded with the skill Inferno Slash Extender, which extends the attack's area of effect. It costs 5 skill points to learn.

Dragon Quest Tact[edit]
Known as Hellfire Slash in this game, it can be learned by Hellion at level 22 and Mandrake marauder at level 36. It costs 17 MP to use and inflicts 180% potency Frizz-type physical damage to a single enemy. Hellfire Slash can also be taught to any unit by using an ability scroll.
