This should not be confused with Estark's Labyrinth, the bonus dungeon in Dragon Quest V.

Estark's Crypt is the resting place of the eponymous monster, sealed away by the Zenith Dragon to prevent his resurrection.

Appearances[edit]

Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen[edit]

Estark, the Lord of the Underworld, sleeps within the Crypt beneath Mamon Mine. Estark's Crypt was accidentally discovered by the miners of Mamon. The gas canister is guarded here which is needed to complete the hot air balloon.

Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince[edit]

What would be known as Estart's Crypt is in fact the highest level of the Cradle of Corruption, where the lifeless bodies of Estark Dumah, Estark Izmah, and Estark Venjah were sealed away by the Zenith Dragon after he separated their souls from their corporeal forms. Estark Dumah is slain by the Chosen Ones as in the original tale, with his blue colouration and weakness being explained as its soul not having enough time to properly integrate with its body before being attacked. Psaro, Rose, and Toilen would face off against Estark Izmah to halt its resurrection, but the body of Estark Venjah is notably absent; it would seem to have escaped the imprisonment before its soul was removed, making it to the whispwoods before collapsing.
