Lingering Malhaze is a disruptive ability that strips adventurers of buffs and prevents spells from being cast.

Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen[edit]
Lingering Malhaze can be used by Night emperors and Demonspawns.
Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride[edit]
Lingering Malhaze is an enemy-only ability, used by the Soulspawns in the final areas of the game.
Dragon Quest Monsters[edit]
ThickFog requires 22 MP, 120 ATK, & 60 INT 160 to be learned by a monster. Once these requirements are met, then Catapila, GateGuards, MadSpirits, Shadows, & WhipBirds will learn how to perform it.
Dragon Quest Monsters 2[edit]
ThickFog is now also learned by NoctoKing, PomPomBom, & Niteric. It has the same properties and requirements as before.
Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2[edit]
Lingering Malhaze costs 55 MP and removes most magical effects from enemies. For a short time afterwards, neither enemies nor allies will be able to use magic. It can be learned from:
- Antimagic II (81 points)
- Dual duellers (73 points)
- Khalamari (100 points)
- Niflheim (56 points)
- Vile Void (60 points)
