Blizzblaze Shrapnel Detonation is a recurring skill first introduced in Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai as one of the signature abilities of the Blizzblaze General Flazzard. When used, he violently scatters the lava rocks and ice shards that make up his body like shrapnel in all directions to any unfortunate foes around him.

Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai[edit]
Flazzard first uses this technique during the battle at Valge Island Tower. He charges up his power, then sends countless rock shards flying from his body in all directions. It doubles as an attack and as a signal to his Blizzblaze Legion to prepare the Blizzblaze Curse Field.
Dragon Quest Monsters: Super Light[edit]
Blizzblaze Shrapnel Detonation can be learned by Flazzard at level 36 and costs 96 MP to use. It randomly causes Frizz and Crack damage three times each to all enemies and has a chance to lower their resistance to both.
Dragon Quest of the Stars[edit]
Flazzard will use this skill when faced as a boss. It deals ice damage to the entire party.
Dragon Quest Walk[edit]
Flazzard uses this skill when faced as a mega monster on the 6th turn and on every fourth turn thereafter. It deals both Frizz and Crack physical damage to the entire party and reduces their physical and spell resistance by one level.
Dragon Quest Tact[edit]
Blizzblaze Shrapnel Detonation can be learned by Flazzard at level 24 and costs 68 MP to use. It inflicts moderate typeless martial damage to all enemies in a rhombus-shaped area around him and has a chance to lower their Frizz and Crack Res for three turns.
