Shadow Blast is the Dark-element counterpart to Gigagash.
Localization history
Shadow Blast and Gigagash are the same skill in the Japanese language, with the differing names likely due to Tact being translated by a different contractor than Shloc ltd, which has worked on the series since 2010 with Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies.
Appearances
Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age
Shadow Blast is an enemy-only skill used by both the restless knight and Mordegon, the Lord of Shadows, in the first battle against him. In the latter's case the demon king swings the Sword of Shadows at the party, with the text box stating "The Lord of Shadows unleashes the power of darkness!".

Dragon Quest Monsters: Terry's Wonderland 3D
In the SP versions of the game released for smart phones, Shadow Blast can be learned from the personal skill of Mordegon, Lord of Shadows. It costs 100 MP to use and deals a combination of both Bang and Zam-element slashing damage to all enemies twice dependent on the user's level.
- Mordegon, Lord of Shadows (250 points)
Dragon Quest Monsters 2: Iru and Luca's Marvelous Mysterious Key
Shadow Blast also appears in the SP version of the game, as has the same attributes as in the previous mobile phone port.
Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince
Shadow Blast costs 80 MP and damages all enemies twice over, with the calculation being (Level/2) + 70~110; this means that at level 99 each slash has a range of 115~155. It is learned through the Estark, Grump, Hair Splitter, and Pest Controller talents.
Dragon Quest: Scan Battlers
Negagash appears as a skill that can be used by Mordegon, Lord of Shadows. It inflicts dark-elemental physical damage to the entire party.
