Summon is a recurring ability in the Dragon Quest series. It invokes the consciousness of a benevolent spirit and manifests one to assist in battle, adding an uncontrollable A.I. character whose stats and abilities are hidden from the player. These spirits are not counted as being members of the party, and thus group-only spells such as Thwack and Multiheal will not target them.

The names of the four summons are Tatron, Deago, Samshin, and Bazhoul . In the first two Monsters games they can each be summoned with their own individual skills, TatsuCall, DiagoCall, SamsiCall, and BazooCall.

Appearances[edit]
