Boulder Toss is a recurring ability in the franchise. It throws a huge rock at enemies, dealing 90~130 damage in most cases.
Appearances
Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen
Appearing in the remakes, Boulder Toss is one of Chow Mein's special attacks. Because no equipment in IV resists the Strike element from VI, this attack will hurt.
Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation
Boulder Toss is learned by advancing to rank 7 of the Gladiator Vocation.
Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past
Learned in the same manner as the previous installment. In the 3DS Version, Boulder Toss is learned at the first rank of the Champion vocation and is slightly nerfed, flattening foes for 80~120.
Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King
Boulder Toss is a fisticuffs technique that both the Hero and Yangus can learn. It requires 82 skill points by the Hero, and 100 skill points by Yangus. The skill is weaker in this game, dealing only 72~104 damage.

This ability is learned with 77 skill points invested into the Fisticuffs skill. Boulder toss has been much improved in this game, dealing damage dependent on the user's strength and deftness for a maximum range of 290~320.
