Flying Knee is an ability in the Dragon Quest series. It inflicts 50% more damage against monsters suspended in the air.

Contrary to popular belief, the skill does not ignore the damage reduction when an enemy defends.

Appearances

Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation

Flying Knee was retroactively added to the 2024 remake, where it's learned by the Martial Artist at level 7. It deals 130% more damage to flying enemies. It costs 3 MP.

Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation

Flying Knee is learned by Carver at level 5. Other characters can obtain it by advancing to rank 5 of the Gladiator vocation. The skill is effective on the following monsters:

Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past

In the PSX and 3DS Versions of VII the Flying Knee skill is learned upon reaching rank 3 of the Martial Artist vocation. The following is an incomplete list of effected monsters:
