The Song of Salvation is a recurring skill in the Dragon Quest series. It attempts to revive fallen party members with a two turn hymn. The success rate per character is 50%, with allies being restored to full HP.
Dragon Quest VI
Song of Salvation is learned by mastering the Luminary vocation, and costs 20 MP to use.
Dragon Quest VII
The holy hymn is learned by reaching rank 8 of the Luminary vocation once more and can be learned naturally by Aishe at level 23, and only costs 10 MP to use. Oddly the skill is coded as a dance in both the PSX and 3DS versions, and is thus vulnerable to Ban Dance.
- In the Nintendo 3DS version, Song of Salvation activates at the end of the first turn, instead of waiting for a second turn to work. However, it is now an advanced vocational skill that can only be used if the singer is currently a Luminary, limiting its usability. Aishe is able to use it whenever as she does not need to become a Luminary to learn it.
Dragon Quest Monsters
Called LifeSong in this game, it requires the monster to reach level 27 with 198 HP, 94 MP, 145 agility and 162 intelligence. It is naturally learned by the Facer and FloraJay. It can also be learned by monsters with Revive and War Cry.
Dragon Quest Monsters 2
LifeSong now requires 292 intelligence to learn. It is naturally learned by the Azurile, HaloSlime and Orgodemir (Transformed).

Song of Salvation can be learned from:
- Aquapothecary (80 points)
- All-Rounder (80 points)
- Cure-all (75 points)
- Green Finger (84 points)

Song of Salvation can be learned from all the skills it could be previously, though All-Rounder now requires 100 points, and Green Finger requires 64 points.
Dragon Quest Tact
Song of Salvation can be learned by Genie sanguini at level 52 and costs 64 MP to use. It restores a moderate amount of health to all allies, including itself, in a rhombus-shaped area around it. Upgrading the skill increases the amount of HP it restores and reduces the amount of MP it costs to use.
