Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King

Known as Multishot in this game, it can be learned by investing 44 skill points into Angelo's Bow skill and costs 4 MP to use. It can also be used by Bodkin bowyers.
Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies
This ability is learned with 58 skill points allocated into Bow skill and costs 4 MP to use. Unlike before it will now always fire four arrows, but each one is still at half strength.
Dragon Quest X
This ability can be learned by Rangers, Armamentalists, Sages, and Item Masters by allocating 76 points into the Bow skill. It costs 6 MP to use.
- In the Offline version of the game, it can be learned by the Hero and Raguas through the Bows panel in their character builders. It costs 5 MP to use and launches four attacks at a single enemy at 65% strength each.
Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age
Rain of Pain is an enemy-only skill that can be used by Bodkin bowyers and Overkilling machines.

Rain of Pain can be learned by Bianca by spending 6 skill points and costs 12 MP to use. It shoots several arrows charged with yellow energy that will track an enemy, even if they are in midair.
- Rain of Pain can be upgraded with the skill Rain of Pain Redux, which costs 8 skill points to learn. By holding the Triangle button when Rain of Pain is being performed, it will allow the attack to target multiple monsters instead of just one.
Dragon Quest Heroes II: Twin Kings and the Prophecy's End
Angelo, Lazarel, & Teresa can learn Rain of Pain by at rank 5 and 3 proficiency respectively. It has the same properties as in the previous game

Dragon Quest Treasures
Rain of Pain is reserved for Hunter mechs and Onyxterminators. It is learned at level 1, costs 6 MP, and will deal piercing damage in a violent volley of arrows in a straight line.
