Double Up is a recurring ability in the Dragon Quest series. It has changed significantly throughout its appearances, but it always affects the potency of the user's attack.
Appearances
Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation
Double Up strikes at 200% power, but the user suffers increased damage taken during the round. It is learned by Carver at level 14 and by Spot at level 16. Other characters can learn it by advancing to rank 3 of the Paladin vocation. In the Nintendo DS remake the skill has the second highest priority of any action in the game, trailing only behind Kaclang. It can also be used by the enemies Averill, Brick, and Berzorker.
Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past
Double Up is learned by reaching rank 3 as a Paladin.
