Nose For Treasure is a recurring ability in the Dragon Quest franchise.
It checks the amount of remaining treasure in the current dungeon floor.

Nose For treasure is learned by Thieves}}, and is unavailable in the NES version.
Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen
In the remakes, Torneko Taloon learns this at level 9.

Learned by Sancho at level 31 and by Dwight at level 10.

Nose For Treasure can be accessed from the Quick Commands menu as well as from Erik's spell list, making it quick and easy to sniff out treasure.
