Poison Breath is a breath attack in the Dragon Quest series. It attempts to Poison a group of enemies when used, and the effects will linger after battle for the party.
Appearances
Dragon Quest II: Luminaries of the Legendary Line
Poison Breath makes its first appearance in the series, being usable by the Gnashturtium.
Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation
Poison Breath can be used by Illerpillars and Toxic zombies.
Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen
Poison Breath can be used by Abracadabradors, Hellspawns, Jade dragons, and Killer gilas.
Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride
Poison Breath is learned by monster companions such as the walking corpse (at level 20). It does not cost MP to use.

Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation
Poison Breath is obtained by advancing to rank 3 of the Monster Master vocation.
It is also used by Toxic turnips.
Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past
Poison Breath can be learned automatically at rank 1 of the Monster Masher vocation and it can also be learned by advancing to rank 4 as a Walking corpse. On the enemy side, it can be used by Blighted bloaters, Corpse corporals, Diethons, Frightcrawlers, Toxic zombies, Putric Stinkenheimer, Worms of woe, and the boss version of Claw breaker.
Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King
Poison Breath returns to being an enemy-only skill that can be used by Devilmoths, Hellspawns, and Toxic zombies.
Dragon Quest Monsters
Called PoisonGas in this game, this ability can be learned by various monsters. It requires the monster to be at least level 9, with at least 63 HP, and 54 Intelligence. It grows into PoisonAir when the monster reaches at least level 14 with at least 98 HP, and 84 Intelligence. It is naturally learned by the Andreal, Catapila, Hork, Mudou, Poisongon, TailEater and WingSnake.
Dragon Quest Monsters 2
PoisonGas now requires 98 Intelligence to learn and 152 Intelligence to upgrade. It is naturally learned by the Anemon, Devipine, Digong, Inverzon, Moray, RogueWave, and Skularach. The Catapila no longer naturally learns it.

Poison Breath can be learned with 5 points in Bad Breath or 12 points in Toxifier.

Poison Breath can be learned from all the skills it could be previously, as well as from All-Rounder or Wormonger for 5 points in either skill.
Dragon Quest Tact
Poison Breath is known naturally by Batmandrill and Rashaverak at level 1 and can be learned by Lickspittle at level 16. It costs 11 MP to use and has a chance to poison all enemies in a range of three squares in front of the user. It can also be taught to any unit by using an ability scroll.
