Falcon Slash is a recurring skill in the Dragon Quest series. It attacks twice in one turn, each strike at 75% power in most instances.
Appearances
Dragon Quest VI
In the original Super Famicom version, the damage was calculated with the user's Attack stat, rather than with their normal attack damage. It was changed in remake versions of the game to function the way it does later in the series. Falcon Slash is already known by Lizzie and Terry when they join the party, and is learned by Goowain at level 25. Other characters can learn it by advancing to rank 7 of the Warrior vocation.
Dragon Quest VII
Falcon Slash is learned by reaching rank 6 of the Gladiator vocation in the PSX version.
- In the 3DS remake it is learned at rank 6 of the Gladiator, rank 2 of the Champion, rank 8 of the Dingbat, and rank 6 of the Slaughtomaton vocations. It also costs 2 MP to use.
Dragon Quest VIII
Falcon Slash is a sword technique that both the the Hero and Angelo can learn. It requires 52 skill points by the Hero, and 40 skill points by Angelo.
Dragon Quest IX
This ability requires 2 MP to use and is learned with 58 skill points invested into Sword skill. If a Falcon blade or an Über falcon blade is equipped, Falcon slash will deal 4 successive hits each time it is used.
Dragon Quest XI
The hero will learn Falcon Slash for 16 points in the Swordmastery panel of his character builder, Erik with 18 points through the Guile panel of his character builder, and Hendrik through his Heroism panel for 16 skill points. It costs 4 MP to use, and hits for full damage on each strike with a higher chance for a critical hit.
Dragon Quest Monsters
Although Falcon Slash does not appear in the game, the skill BiAttack is functionally identical.
