Double-Edged Slash is an ability in the Dragon Quest series.
It deals high damage but inflicts recoil on the user and the bonus damage effect will stack with weapons such as the Dragonsbane.

Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake[edit]
Double-Edged Slash was retroactively added to the 2024 remake, where it can learned by Warriors as early as level 16 if their wisdom exceeds 27 points. It costs 6 MP and deals 160% damage to one foe, with the user taking 30% recoil damage themselves.
Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation[edit]
Double-Edged Slash inflicts 150% damage, but the user takes 25% recoil damage. It is obtained by advancing to rank 4 of the Warrior vocation.
Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past[edit]
The skill has the same parameters as before, but is now learned by reaching rank 4 of the Gladiator vocation. In the 3DS remake the skill has been buffed up considerably, dealing 170% damage and while the recoil is reduced to 1/6th.
It is used by the enemies automaton and slaughtomaton.
Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies[edit]
This ability is learned with 42 skill points allocated into Guts skill. The parameters are the same as in VI.
Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age[edit]
Double-slash is unlocked for 20 points in Hendrik's Heroism skill tree. It costs 6 MP to use, hits for 320% damage, and inflicts 32% recoil damage upon the knight.

Double-Edged Slash can be learned from:
- Berserker (13 points)
- Champion (7 points)
- Estark (5 points)
- Martyr (10 points)
- Trickster (12 points)
