Cool Breath is a breath attack in the Dragon Quest series. It emits a chilly breath attack on all enemies that deals between 13~16 damage.

Appearances

Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation

In remake versions of the game, Cool Breath can be used by Boreal serpents, Imps, Minidemons, Freezing fogs, and Firn fiends and deals between 9~20 damage to the entire party.

Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen

Sparkie will sometimes use this skill in battle. It can also be used by Imps and Powie yowies and deals 9~13 damage.

Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride

Cool Breath is learned by monster companions such as the Chimaera. It does not cost any MP to use. On the enemy side, it can be used by Brrrattling snakes, Cross eyes, and the Winter Queen.

Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation

Cool Breath is learned by Shelley at Level 5. Other characters can obtain this technique by advancing to rank 2 of the Dragon vocation or rank 5 of the Monster Master vocation. On the enemy side, it can be used by Dreamaeras, Shadows, and Sculptrice.

Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past

Cool Breath received a substantial boost in the Nintendo 3DS version, hitting for 30~45 damage. In the original Sony PlayStation version, it is learned by reaching rank 4 as a Monster Masher or rank 3 in the 3DS version, as well as rank 3 as a Drake slime. It can be used by Forky pigs and Wet kissers.

Dragon Quest Monsters

Called FrigidAir in this game, it requires a monster to reach Level 3 with 21 HP. It grows into IceAir when the monster reaches Level 10 with 70 HP. It is naturally learned by the Akubar, BigEye, Blizzardy, Darkdrium, Demonite, Divinegon, EvilBeast, EvilWand, Gismo, GreatDrak, IceMan, KingLeo, Mudou, Shadow, Sidoh, Skullgon, Wyvern and Zoma.
