Japanese | バギクロス |
Rōmaji | Bagikurosu |
Type | Offensive |
Older names | Infermost Aerocross |
The spell Kaswoosh conjures a colossal tornado to shred a group of enemies with blades of wind. It is related to the weaker spells Woosh and Swoosh, and the stronger spell Kaswooshle.
Appearances[edit]
Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation[edit]
Kaswoosh is learned by Priests and Sages at level 36, dealing between 60~120 damage for 9 MP. Ortega uses this spell in his fight with King Hydra. It can also be cast by using the Sword of Kings as a tool in battle.
Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen[edit]
Kaswoosh is learned by Meena Mahabala at level 32 and is identical to its previous appearance.
The enemies Whirly girly, Red dragon (biped), Drakulard (in the remakes), and Aamon use this spell against the party.
Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride[edit]
As the only end-game offensive spell of the main character, Kaswoosh has been enhanced to deal between 80~180 damage and is cast for 8 MP.

Wight king, Moosifer, Kon the Knight, and Balhib use it as enemies.
Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation[edit]
Kaswoosh is learned by advancing to rank 4 of the Paladin vocation, keeping the parameters of its previous appearance.
It is also used by the enemies High djinks, and Stormsgate Citadel (boss).
Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past[edit]
Kaswoosh is learned by advancing to rank 4 as a Paladin and rank 8 as the Draguar vocation.
In the Nintendo 3DS version, it can also be learned at rank 6 as a Sage, rank 5 as a Pirate, rank 2 as a Druid, and rank 5 as a Hero. However, it is an advanced spell and can only be learned permanently by mastering the Draguar vocation.
It can be cast by the enemies Vaipur, Djinn genie, Drakulard, Envoy, Hirsute hwxer, and Wind Spirit.
Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King[edit]
Kaswoosh is learned by Angelo at level 32. It possesses a base damage of 64~144 for 8 MP, and will steadily grow towards a cap of 120~200 damage once Angelo's Wisdom surpasses 450.
- As with other third-tier spells, Kaswoosh was modified in the 3DS port. The base range is now 112~152, and the cap is 164~224 at 520 Wisdom.
The enemies Dark minister, Statue of Angelo, and Wight king also use it. It can be cast by the Infamous Monsters Barry Wight, Harry (Recruit), Lumpy, and Priestley.
Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies[edit]
Kaswoosh is learned by Minstrels at level 36 and Luminaries at level 45, requiring 26 MP to cast. Rips through a group of enemies with a ferocious whirlwind, dealing 80~180 base damage. The spell will begin to reach it's cap of 155~255 once the caster's Magical Might surpasses 200.
Kaswoosh will deal 30~130 damage when cast by an enemy.
Dragon Quest X[edit]
Minstrels will learn the spell upon reaching level 51, Luminaries at level 50, and Pirates at level 65. All vocations can cast it for 12 MP as of the 2.1 update. The spell's formula is (Magical Might - 79) x 0.54 + 57~87, leading to a base range of 57~87 and max range of 177~207. The calculation alters when the caster's might exceeds 300, becoming (Magical Might - 300) / 20 + 177~207 for a new cap of 211~241. The tornadoes conjured by the incantation radiate out from the caster for 15 meters in a counter-clockwise patter, striking enemies within the range multiple times.
- In the Offline version of the game, the Hero can learn Kaswoosh at level 51 as a Minstrel and 51 as a Luminary, while Raguas learns it at level 45 and Fuura learns it at level 46. As the game has changed back to a traditional turn-based battle system, Kaswoosh deals wind damage to a group of enemies for 10 MP. The damage range is 72~245 dependent on the caster's Magical Might.
Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age[edit]
Serena will learn Kaswoosh during a story event, and can cast it for 20 MP. Kaswoosh's base range is 124~252 and the maximum range is 162~290. Because Serena never develops any Magical Might save for equipment bonuses and seeds, the growth range for the spell is 1~250 magical might.
- On the enemy side, it can be cast by Hyperanemon and Malicious grey gordon.
Dragon Quest Monsters[edit]
Known as Infermost in this game, it is an upgraded form of Infermore. Infermore grows into Infermost when the monster reaches level 27 with 104 max MP and 134 INT.
Dragon Quest Monsters 2[edit]
Infermost now requires 242 INT to learn.

- Bang & Woosh II (42 points)
- Bang & Woosh III (7 points)

- Frizz & Woosh II (43 points)
- Frizz & Woosh III (7 points)

- Stormsgate Citadel (20 points)
- Woosh & Sizz II (47 points)
- Woosh & Sizz III (7 points)
Terry's Wonderland 3D & Iru and Luca's Marvelous Mysterious Key[edit]
Kaswoosh costs 22 MP and will deal 114~126 damage. Once the caster's Wisdom rises higher than 250, the spell will increase in power until it hits 209~231 damage at 999 Wisdom.
Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3[edit]
Kaswoosh has the same parameters as in the prior two Monsters titles.
Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince[edit]
Kaswoosh costs 22 MP and is learned via the Aamon, Polariser, Snow Drifter, Storm Chaser, Vagabond, and Woosh Virtuoso talents. It has a base power of 120 and will deal an average of 220 damage at 999 wisdom.
Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree's Woe and the Blight Below[edit]
Game | Description |
Stirs up a hard-hitting hurricane that blows all foes away.[1] |
Kaswoosh is the third tier spell of Isla and can be learned by investing 16 skill points. After charging her Swoosh spell for a short time, she can cast Kaswoosh, which creates four whirlwinds in front of her for 26 MP. The whirlwinds last for 5 seconds, allowing Isla to rack up lots of hits and damage in conjunction with her other attacks.
Dragon Quest Heroes II: Twin Kings and the Prophecy's End[edit]
Kaswoosh also appears as the third tier spell of Meena and now only costs 14 MP. It can be learned by investing 16 skill points after they reach level 22 and have learned Swoosh.
Dragon Quest Tact[edit]
Kaswoosh can be learned by Vis mager at level 52, Wight king at level 54, and Teeny sanguini and Wrecktor through Talent Blossoming. It costs 108 MP to cast, has a range of three squares in front of the caster, and inflicts major Woosh-type spell damage to all enemies in a range of three squares horizontally. Upgrading the spell increases its damage and reduces the amount of MP it costs to cast.
There are also variations of the spell, including Kaswoosh Plus, Dual Kaswoosh, and Wight Kaswoosh.

Kaswoosh generates twisters that ram into enemies repeatedly, dealing heavy Wind-element damage for 22 MP. It can be learned by Hat hamwitches, Shadow ministers, Stormy sabrecats, and Valhalla vultures at level 33, automatically upgrading from Swoosh.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate[edit]
Kaswoosh appears as the Hero's up special move in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. It is two large whirlwinds that sends the Hero up far into the air, with the blusters hitting opponents for up to 19% damage and launching them downward. It is the fully charged version of Woosh and costs 18 MP.
Enemy versions[edit]
Kaswoosh dealt 30~62 damage and kept the wind-speed until VIII, when it was changed to 32~76 damage. Beginning with IX the spell would strike for 30~130 damage.

Trivia[edit]
Prior to the debut of animated spells in V, Kaswoosh was depicted as being two powerful blades of wind striking enemies in a Greek cross pattern. This is still reflected in the spell's Japanese name of Bagicross. When it was decided that the spell would be animated as a twister, the idea of striking enemies with a burst of holy wind would be retained and manifest in VI as Pearly Gates (Grand Cross in Japanese).
