The Ghost Ship refers to two different ships from Dragon Quest III and Dragon Quest II HD-2D Remake, respectively. In the former it is found in the upper world and roams above water, while in the latter, it roams on the ocean floor in greater Alefgard (Torland).
The ship in Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation went down many years prior to the events of the game while Eric was caught onboard, dooming its crew to sail forever as they have not even realized they've died.
Eric's ghost and his locket can be found onboard, and obtaining his locket is essential to reuniting him with his lost lover Olivia to gain entrance to the her promontory.
Appearances[edit]
Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake[edit]
A different Ghost Ship from that found in the world above is found underneath the seas of Torland, and is accessible only by piloting the ship underwater. This is not to be confused with the Sunken Ship, another underwater ship dungeon found in the remake. While the Ghost Ship moves around and looks like a purple mist, the Sunken Ship is stationary on the ocean floor and looks like a small ship.
A boss named Octavian is fought there, and afterward, you can get another Living Memory.
Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation[edit]
Finding the ship requires the use of the Boatman's Bone; without which, the ship will never appear to the Hero and party. It's always in the inland sea between Romaria, Asham and Ibis.
