The Windbreaker is a key item in Dragon Quest II: Luminaries of the Legendary Line and accessory in Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past.

Appearances

Dragon Quest II: Luminaries of the Legendary Line

The cloak is a plot-driving item that must be equipped like an accessory, and is located in the 8th floor of the Pillar of Winds. Although the cloak has no protection benefits, equipping it enables the wearer to benefit from its special capability to jump long distances, which is needed to traverse a massive river dividing two continents. To do so, the player must jump from either apex of the Dragon's Horn towers.

Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past (Nintendo 3DS)

Reappearing after a long absence, the Windbreaker is an accessory that everyone but prince Kiefer can equip. It increases agility by +50, and boosts evasion by 33.3%.

Dragon Quest of the Stars

The windbreaker appears as a cosmetic top obtainable in the Guided by Rubiss' Light permanent event. It's a purely cosmetic item, with a base defense of +14 and agility of +7.

It's appearance is based on the one seen in the Famicom guide for Dragon Quest II.

Dragon Quest Builders 2

Obtained in Furrowfield after the whole island is swallowed in evil miasma, the windbreaker is a key item that allows the builder to glide. To use it, the builder must jump and have at least 1 blank space under their feet, then press the interact button. While gliding, the attack button can be pressed to perform an aerial attack that elevates the player.

When using the windbreaker, if Malroth is in the party he will cling to the builder's legs. All other human characters will use a windbreaker of their own when following a gliding builder.

Like in Stars, it's light blue appearance is based on the Famicom guide look.
