Freezing Blizzard

Freezing Blizzard is a breath attack in the Dragon Quest series. It emits a chafingly chilly breath attack on all enemies for 120~140 damage in all titles after V, wherein it dealt only 50~60 damage.

Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation

In remake versions of the game, Freezing Blizzard can be used by Baramonster, Zoma, and Xenlon and deals 100~139 damage to the entire party. Although the game's text states that C-c-cold Breath is being used, it is actually Freezing Blizzard.

Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride

Freezing Blizzard is learned by monster companions such as the Chimaera. It does not cost MP to use.

Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation

In the Nintendo DS and smartphone versions of the game, Freezing Blizzard is learned by Shelley at Level 35. In the original Super Famicom game, Dreamaera learns the ability at Level 30. Other characters can obtain this technique by advancing to rank 6 of the Dragon Vocation. It can be used by Aggrosculpture, Demon overlord, Dreadstaff, Pudgedevil, Mortamor's final form, and Hammer.

Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past

Freezing Blizzard can be learned by mastering the Seasaur vocation or by reaching rank 5 as a Galumph or rank 4 as an Ersatz Estark. On the enemy side, it can be used by Ersatz Estark, Fright knight, Grotwyrm, Night knight, Master moosifer, Seasaur, Hybris, and Orgodemir's first form in the final battle.

Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King

Freezing Blizzard can be used by Ultimate dragon, Hellspawn, Leopold, Rhapthorne in both of his forms, and Silhouette. It deals around 120~140 damage to the entire party. The Ultimate dragon will often raise his tension before using it on the party. Munchie can also use Freezing Blizzard after eating Cold cheese.

Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies

Freezing Blizzard can be used by Aggrosculptures, Cumulus hexes, Drastic drackals, Firn fiends, Fright knights, Corvus's second form, Nodoph, and Orgodemir from Levels 1-40. It deals 60~89 ice damage to the entire party.

Dragon Quest X

Freezing Blizzard can be learned by Imp as a monster companion with the Ice Breath Knowledge skill tree for 7 skill points, inflicting 60~90 ice damage for 7 MP.

Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age

Freezing Blizzard can be used by Metal dragon slimes. It deals around 80 damage to the entire party.

Dragon Quest Monsters

Called IceStorm in this game, it is an upgraded form of IceAir. IceAir grows into IceStorm when the monster reaches Level 20 with 140 HP. IceStorm grow into WhiteAir when the monster reaches Level 30 with 210 HP.

The requirements to learn and upgrade IceStorm are unchanged.

Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker

Cold Blizzard costs 12 MP to use and deals 86-103 cold damage to all enemies. It can be learned from the following skill trees:

Cold Blizzard can be learned from all the skills it could be previously as well as from Vile Void for 6 points or from Zenith Dragon for 13 points.

Dragon Quest Tact

Freezing Blizzard can be learned by Trap box at Level 22, Boreal serpent at Level 42, and Dragon slime at Level 46. It costs 57 MP to use and inflicts moderate Crack-type breath damage to any enemies in a straight line of three squares in front of the user. The skill was originally named Frigid Blizzard at the game's start, but was changed to Freezing Blizzard after the Version 2.0 update.
