Moonahan is a village in central Torland in Dragon Quest II: Luminaries of the Legendary Line, just north of Moonbrooke.

The town serves as a central location for several quests during the early portion of the game. Specifically, freeing the Princess of Moonbrooke, retrieving the Windbreaker, and departing for Rippleport.

Appearances[edit]

Dragon Quest II: Luminaries of the Legendary Line[edit]

Moonahan is the meeting point of the three Luminaries. After obtaining the Ra's Mirror, the princes can use it on a dog in the upper-east section of the town to break Hargon's curse and reveal that it is really the princess.

Moonahan is also home to the Water Sigil. It is hidden behind a Golden Key door and a Jailor's Key door. The Luminaries must then fight two Grimlins and search the empty cell to find it. The location of this Sigil is hinted by a man in Beran.

Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age[edit]

Moonaham is accessible through the Echo Chamber, and the Luminary and co. are transported to a time just before the breaking of the princess' curse. The townsfolk have been turned into dogs while the princess is human, and she requests a jug of Magic water to turn the town back to normal. Once she is given some, the scenario is flipped leaving herself cursed as she awaits the arrival of her cousins.

Dragon Quest Builders 2[edit]

Moonahan is, as expected, a hamlet north of Moonbrooke. There is a chest in the church basement with the unique Portrait of a Princess decorative item.

Like Moonbrooke it has been under siege by the Children of Hargon for living memory.

A mortally wounded soldier from Moonahan barely makes it to Moonbrooke to request aid in defending the town. Malroth rushes off with a small group of soldiers in response. By the time the Builder, Anessa, and Warwick catch up to Malroth the town has been utterly destroyed by monsters. The Builder and Malroth barely survive the battle. The only surviving resident of the town is the nun Esther who resided in the only building left standing: the church.

As the soldiers that accompanied Malroth all perished in the battle, the Builder buries them at Esther's request, during which Malroth behaves unusually callous. After rescuing Esther and completing her requests the location has no further story relevance or inhabitants.
