Dark Breath is a breath attack in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing in Dragon Quest IX. It emits shadowy flames on enemies.

Dragon Quest IX
The hellish halitosis is exclusive to Legacy Bosses. Its damage range is calculated as (100+(lv^2/23)) * 0.9~1.1. This gives the skill a minimum range of 153~187, and a cap of 473~578.
Dragon Quest Tact
Dark Breath can be learned by Shadow at level 20, Silhouette at level 22, and Dragon zombie at level 26. It costs 27 MP to use and inflicts moderate Zam-type breath damage on any enemies in a straight line of three squares in front of the user. It can also be taught to any unit by using an ability scroll.
