The Immigrant Town is an open space in several Dragon Quest games that can be made into a town.

Dragon Quest III

The immigrant town is located in a clearing on the east coast of the northeastern continent. It is founded by an old man from Persistence who hopes to build a settlement on the east coast. He requires help from the merchant aiding The Hero. The town will go through five stages (four in the NES Version). During the development, the merchant starts to push the towns people hard, ultimately resulting in the townspeople overthrowing and imprisoning the merchant. In the remakes, the merchant is freed and returns to being leader, but shortly after resigns and rejoins The Hero on their quest. The development of the town is necessary to obtain a Yellow Orb.

Dragon Quest IV

Main article: Pioneer Town

This town exists only in the remake of Dragon Quest IV and is located at the site of the Desert Bazaar. It's started up later in the game by Hank Hoffman Jr. who asks The Hero to look for people to invite to the area and help it grow into a town. This is accomplished by going through various parts of the story, and visiting the town for detail on where to go to find a person interested in coming to the town. After every possible invite is done, the town becomes a castle, with the objective of finding the body and heart of a Sultan and resulting in said Sultan returning to normal. The development of the town isn't necessary to the main story.

Dragon Quest VII

Main article: The Haven

In Dragon Quest VII, the immigrant town is built in the present day, on a field that once was the town of Regenstein. In the Playstation version, the town is made on the request of Sim, an old man who tends to the fields. In the 3DS version, the town is instead founded by Carey, a young girl who wants to build a town for reformed monsters.
